REQUIREMENTS
The vast majority and highest quality climbs are in the 6B+ - 8A (V4 - V11) range. We recommend that you are confident on V4 boulder problems before booking this trip.
ABOUT
Magic Wood is the favourite climbing location of a lot of boulderers; there isn't any other location in the entire world with such a high concentration of world-class boulders!
Despite having some of the hardest bouldering problems in the world and not necessarily being the perfect location for complete beginners, this climbing destination also offers a large amount of boulders that are accessible to almost all abilities.
In this crag you will find around 150 climbs bellow 6A and up to 400 problems in between V2 to V5. The granite blocks come in many different shapes and dimensions and are all surrounded by a cosy pine forest located on a steep hillside.
The bouldering area is located just across the river from the guesthouse, so is very easy to access. Although the walk-in to the boulders is very short, it can also be fairly steep-going at times, so be prepared to work hard to get to certain boulders!
After a day of hard climbing, look forward to cosy evenings back at the guesthouse, swapping stories with other climbers whilst enjoying some fantastic Swiss beer.
ITINERARY
Welcome to Switzerland!
Shortly after arriving at the airport you will be picked up the transfer and driven to the accommodation, close to the bouldering site.
Once there, we’ll do an initial briefing to go over the plan and aims of the weekend.
Rise and shine — the first day of bouldering is about to begin (about 8 hours).
We’ll drive you out to the boulders, making a quick stop at a local grocery store to buy packed lunch.
Upon arrival at the activity site, the No Boundaries Team will guide you around the area.
At the end of the day you’ll be driven back to the accommodation for an evening of hearty food and swapping stories — everything you need to get ready for another day of crushing problems!
Another day of amazing bouldering (about 6 hours).
As on Day 2, we'll buy packed lunch on the way.
You'll head over to the boulders to try new challenges and sort out any unfinished business with the rocks!
At the end of the second day of climbing, you’ll be driven back to the airport. We’ll say goodbye and you'll take your flight back, with thoroughly worn out skin and, with any luck, a load of photos of you crushing Swiss boulders to show off to your friends at home. Serious bragging rights.
