About
Get back to nature and experience the staggering beauty of the Dolomites in a weekend with this Via Ferrata adventure. The Dolomites are a mountain range lying in the eastern section of the northern Italian Alps, and are also known as the ‘Pale Mountains’ due to their silvery summits, which collect the sun’s golden light majestically at dawn and dusk. On the edge of the Dolomites, formed by glaciers, lies crystal-clear Lake Garda, the largest lake in Italy and one of the most popular holiday destinations in the country. The lake itself contains several islands, the largest being Isola del Garda, where Francis of Assisi founded a monastery on the 13th century. Its mild climate, clean air and peaceful ambience have attracted visitors for centuries; not to mention the phenomenal cliffs scenically overlooking the lake.
On this adventure we’ll tackle two of the most renowned and exciting Via Ferratas of Lake Garda.

Adventure Plan
Day 1 - Arrival:
Welcome to Italy! Shortly after arriving at the airport you will be picked up by our transport and driven to the accommodation. Once there, we’ll hold an initial briefing to introduce the team, go over the week’s plan and do an equipment/clothing check. There’ll be opportunity for questions followed by free time and dinner.
Day 2 - Ferrata Cima Capi:
Our route today will be the Via Ferrata Cima Capi. This via ferrata is well known and infinitely photographed for its extraordinary views.
The day starts with an easy walk in Ledro Valley, up to a rocky ridge with views of Lake Garda. It's not technically difficult, but passages up to 500m high are very exposed. The via ferrata is named after the peak, Cima Capi (909m). Throughout the route we’ll come across the remains of WW1 (such as tunnels) as this location was a key strategic borderline between Austria and Italy, used to control incoming attacks from the surrounding lake and valleys. The Via Ferrata overlooks Lake Garda and Ledro Valley, in a stunning mountain panorama, so it’s well worth the effort!
Day 3 - Ferrata Colodri:
Our route today will be the Via Ferrata Colodri, which is situated on Monte Colodri, just above the town of Arco. The route was rebuilt in 2017 and is one of the oldest of the area. It's a classic 1.5h long, well protected ferrata, perfect for a first insight into the sport due to its lack of technical difficulty, plus it finishes with an easy hike to the summit of Monte Colodri (398m), where stunning views await. At the end of the day he transfer will bring us back to the airport.
