"My name is Nicola Castagna, I was born in 1995 in Brescia. When I was 14 I gradually started to live the mountain in all its disciplines and aspects: trekking, rock and ice climbing, skiing and mountaineering.
Because of this passion I decided to move to Trentino, in Val Rendena, where the mountain is just a few steps from home. Here I finished high school and a few months later became ski instructor. Working as ski instructor gave me the opportunity to travel and visit famous climbing areas such as Yosemite in California and Patagonia.
I first visited Patagonia when I was twenty years old, along with Ermanno Salvaterra, maybe the most famous Patagonian alpinist. We climbed the renowned Fitz Roy and for me it has been a blowing experience, making me understand that “Mountain” is the place where I want to spend a great part of my life. That’s why when I was 22 I started to attend the courses to become alpine guide, courses that I finished in May 2019.
Since then I work as a guide and ski instructor.
Moreover I'm attending the Environmental Engineering University in Trento in order to make another dream of mine come true."
