From there starts an equipped path built up during the First World War, when it was used by soldiers; it is necessary to wear a harness and a helmet: we will be following the path that runs across very easy climbing passages on rocky crests until we reach a height of 3166 m on Corno di Lago Scuro and we reach a similar pass (2970 m). We will ascend, roped up, until we reach the glacier and the icy plain of Pian di Neve (3050 m); from here the path is steeper and we go up, still on the glacier, to Passo del Dosson (3250m), where we leave the glacier and we follow a crest – not equipped – with parts of easy climbing, to Cresta Croce (3305 m), a beautiful panoramic point from where we can enjoy the scenic view of glaciers and the majestic surrounding peaks.
The descending path continues on the crest until a mountain pass at 3280 m above sea level, where we climb down to the glacier below and we follow the path to the shelter - Lobbia Alta 3040, where we will sleep.
